The preaching from January until Lent 2010 will be based on The Healthy Churches Handbook by Robert Warren. Copies of the book have been purchased and each Steward will be reading it over the next couple of weeks. Books will then be made available to housegroup leaders along with suitable group material for use in fellowship groups. For Lent, we will be following The Big Read teaching on Luke's gospel- material by Bishop Tom Wright. It's going to be an exciting time: don't miss out!

Outreach Meeting - Wednesday January 13th 7.30 at Liz's- 29 Orchard Road
Outreach Meeting - Wednesday January 13th 7.30 at Liz's- 29 Orchard Road
A reminder to all those on the Outreach group that our next meeting is this Wednesday at 7.30. Please come with your thoughts about Christmas - things that went well and things we could have done differently. Also any ideas for the coming months up to and including Easter.
( If anyone would like to be part of our Outreach planning at Fellside, then why not speak to either Liz, Jean or Simon and come along to the meeting this week)

Table Top Sale
If you, or someone you know, had been saving up bric a brac, toys and books to be sold at a Christmas Fayre, then please hang on to them for a little bit longer. Our FEAT group is organising a Table Top stall and Coffee morning on Saturday January 30th from 10 - 12noon and all contributions (plus any unwanted Christmas presents!) will be very welcome. These can be brought to Church from Sunday January 24th onwards. You never know, the famous Fellside Bacon Butties might be available too!

ECG Conference, Llandudno, Easter 2010 - April 6th - 11th
ECG Conference, Llandudno, Easter 2010 - April 6th - 11th
During the last two years, a group from Fellside has attended this conference, and have been blessed and challenged by the experience! We already have a good group showing positive interest, and now is the time to think about going, if your name's not on the list already! Look out for the literature, and booking forms, and have a word with Roger Whitworth if you want more information. We shall be staying at the Chatsworth Hotel again, and travel by bus is available if required on the Easter Monday, 5th April

Christmas Day at Fellside
Christmas Day at Fellside - 11a m (not 10.15 as advertised in the plan) Again an early reminder that our Christmas Day Service will be as last year at the later time of 11am. This gives plenty of time to open all the presents Santa has brought ( and to bring one along to the Service!) and also time to get home again to put the sprouts on! Coffee will be served in the vestibule from 10.30 so come in good time and share a coffee together before the service. This is also definitely something for friends and family so why not bring along all those people who share your Christmas Day with you too.
Carol Singing at the QE hospital
Carol Singing at the QE hospital
We have been asked again this year by the hospital chaplain to carol sing round some of the wards at the QE. This will take place on Monday December 21st. Please meet in the hospital chapel to be ready to move off at 6.45pm. Please borrow from Church and bring with you a copy of the blue hymn book. Lifts can be arranged for anyone needing one.

Shoeboxes
SHOEBOXES
Thank you to everyone involved with the shoe box campaign. Approximately 500 shoe boxes were sent out from this church last Tuesday. The shoe boxes came from the church congregation, local schools, nursing home, U3A, Group Inner Wheel, sheltered accommodation and local community (apologies if I have missed anyone). As a result of supplying covered shoe boxes I was able to send a donation of £85 to Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes this year are going to BELARUS and UKRAINE.
